Light’s Fiberglass: New location and plenty to do

There was a time when a trip down to Cranberry Point in Corea, ME would put you right in the middle of some serious boat building activity, between the Young Brothers and Light’s Fiberglass.

These days, SW Boatworks in Lamoine is the source if you’re looking for a Young Brothers hull … and the YB shop is gone.

In the meantime, Light’s Fiberglass has stayed busy since owner Mike Light first went on his own in 1992.  Even when the demand for new boats dried up a few years ago, Light and his crew had plenty of repair and repower work to do.  “I was one of the lucky ones,” says Mike.  “The repair work was what kept me going when I first started…
