Natural feed supplements need more study

FISH HEALTH NOTES by Rod Getchell

ITHACA, NY – Having been bombarded with advertisements touting the health benefits of herbal supplements for people and even our pets, I am somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to claims of this nature. However, two recent articles in the November issue of the Journal of Fish Diseases caught my attention.

This is a top-rate journal and the articles are from reputable scientists. They reported that garlic or ginger added to fish feed protected rainbow trout from Aeromonas hydrophila infection.
