As US seafood trade deficit continues to rise NIMBY attitudes, regulations have to change

It is not often that I invoke the name of a colleague in my column.

But I am compelled to mention someone who, for the past several years, has inspired me through his relentless efforts to right a wrong.

Like many of us still do, I used to think that the US seafood trade deficit was so large that only petroleum surpassed it on a top-ten list.
