Visiting Pentair AES’s aquaponics facility

APOPKA, FL – Aquaponics is just about the hottest thing going in aquaculture these days.

From backyard systems for neophytes, to full scale commercial operations, aquaponics – which is simply defined as growing aquatic animals (fish) and plants together in a recirculating system – is one of the fastest growing segments of our industry.  Regular readers may recall my visit to Nelson and Pade a while back.  They are the Wisconsin-based company that’s a world leader in the aquaponics movement.

Well, not long ago I was able to carve out some time for a visit to central Florida that included a stop to see my good friends at Aquatic Eco-Systems (AES), and more specifically, to get an inside look at their on-site aquaponics facility.
