STEVENS POINT, WI – For those of you who regularly follow my columns here, you may recall that I did a piece on the aquaponics team of Nelson and Pade a few years back.
As some of you may know, not long ago Nelson and Pade received a $677,500 economic development incentive grant from the state of Wisconsin which, in turn, helped fund the company’s most recent expansion.
In late April I took a drive down to the grand opening of Neslon and Pade’s new greenhouse operation here with a friend of mine who is looking to invest in a facility.
Nelson and Pade, I should also add, has partnered with the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (UW-SP) which has recently opened its Aquaponics Innovation Center at the same location.
In my opinion, this is a great example of business and education working together to achieve a working aquaponics facility that is ready to share its technology, and improve upon it, as they both grow together…
