SOUTH ADDISON, ME \u2013 Truth be known, Alex Thompson says he\u2019s been wanting an Osmond 47 from H&H Marine ever since the Steuben, ME boat builders first started producing the 47\u20194\u201dx19\u20192\u201d model back in 2007.<\/p>\n

But, at the time, Alex elected to go with a smaller boat (although you can\u2019t really refer to an Osmond 42 with a 17\u20196\u201d beam as a small<\/i> boat) and work his way up from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad I did it the way I did,\u201d says the South Addison lobsterman.\u00a0 \u201cBy waiting, I had a better idea of how I wanted things and could do it right.\u00a0 Like that old saying, \u2018Good things come to those who wait.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

And according to Alex, his new Osmond 47 Carlee Marie is definitely a good thing.\u00a0 Let\u2019s take a closer look.<\/p>\n

The English Taylor<\/b><\/p>\n

Once H&H Marine had laid up the 47-footer\u2019s solid-fiberglass hull and foam-cored molded top, Alex had it trucked to Peter Taylor\u2019s Taylored Boats in South Addison to be finished.<\/p>\n

Taylor, who grew up in Banbury, England, moved his family to the States in 2002 to jump feet-first into Downeast boat building.\u00a0 Tours of duty at RP Boat and H&H Marine provided the quick-learning Taylor with a wide range of skills…<\/p>\n
