1. Work hard; be honest; have fun<\/b>. Cape Fish has been doing just that for 40 years, since original owner Billy Nichols and his wife Nancy opened the shop in 1976.\u00a0 Billy brought a commercial fishing background to the business, as did Bob Denn, who was on hand for the initial stocking of the shelves and went on to manage the store for Nancy after Billy\u2019s death in 1978.\u00a0 Bob and his wife Rosemarie eventually bought Cape Fishermen\u2019s Supply in 1992.<\/p>\n

The business was in sync with the area\u2019s fisheries: the evolution from tub trawling to gillnetting in the 1970s; the late 70s scallop boom (\u201cWhen the guys from Maine came down to show these fellas how it was done,\u201d says Denn); the Scottish seining years; lobstering; you name it \u2026 right up to and including the escalation of aquaculture operations in the last few years…<\/p>\n
