PORTLAND, ME \u2013 The northern shrimp fishery may be regulated very differently this winter if stateby- state quotas and\/or trawl vs. trap allocations are adopted by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission\u2019s (ASMFC) Northern Shrimp Section.<\/p>\n

The section is considering both approaches and other proposals as part of Draft Addendum I to Amendment 2 to the interstate shrimp plan. The addendum was initiated last January to help \u201cstabilize\u201d the fishery and increase management flexibility<\/p>\n
