After surprisingly good Labor Day lobster sales for almost everybody, things \u201cquieted down dramatically\u201d in mid-September, to quote dealers, co-op managers, and exporters.<\/p>\n

News of the earlier low lobster prices paid to the boats had reached the public, who decided to take advantage of them over the long holiday weekend. Some people, though, expected prices to be lower than they were at restaurants and fish markets. Several dealers said the public still does not understand how prices rise from those paid to fishermen to those at retail.<\/p>\n
