Lash, in 2013.\u00a0 Wesley had taken over the reins of the Lash Brothers shop in 1984 when his father retired.\u00a0 Wesley\u2019s son (known to most as \u201cyoung Wes\u201d) joined the operation full-time in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>One of eight brothers who all were multi-talented hard workers, Winnie taught himself about boat design at an early age, eventually becoming a skilled and prolific craftsman who could design and build a sleek Friendship sloop \u2013 then turn around and construct a rugged dragger or purse seiner from scratch.<\/p>\n<p>Wesley always said of his father Winnie: \u201cHe\u2019ll talk about a particular boat or a customer, but as far as what he\u2019s done, you won\u2019t get much out of Father.
