{"id":8867,"date":"2015-11-24T16:25:16","date_gmt":"2015-11-24T21:25:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fish-news.com\/cfn\/?p=8867"},"modified":"2015-12-22T11:02:37","modified_gmt":"2015-12-22T16:02:37","slug":"wesmacs-steve-wessel-in-for-the-long-haul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fish-news.com\/cfn\/wesmacs-steve-wessel-in-for-the-long-haul\/","title":{"rendered":"Wesmac\u2019s Steve Wessel: In for the long haul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>by Brian Robbins<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SURRY, ME \u2013 Mention Steve Wessel\u2019s name to anyone familiar with Maine boat building and their reply is likely to be: \u201cYou mean the Wesmac guy?<\/p>\n<p>Man \u2013 they\u2019ve built some boats over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Which is true \u2013 a good 600 and counting, if you begin the tally from back in the 1980s when Wesmac custom-finished hulls built by a number of Maine builders.<\/p>\n<p>But what many folks might not realize is that Steve Wessel had a relationship with the ocean long before he was a boat builder \u2013 and the drive and focus he\u2019s known for today were probably shaped by some formative years on the business end of a clam hoe \u2026 not a bad lesson in learning how to get things done.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8868\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8868\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8868\" alt=\"Steve Wessel and Linda Greenlaw married in 2012.
