HYANNIS, MA \u2013 Following hours of difficult discussion that stretched out over two days, the New England Fishery Management Council voted on Sept. 25 to adopt a 400-metric-ton (mt) 2014 quota for Georges Bank yellowtail flounder as recommended by the US\/Canada Transboundary Management Guidance Committee (TMGC).<\/p>\n
The 400 mt will be divided between the US and Canada under a formula in which historical catches are weighted 10% and \u201cresource distribution based on trawl surveys\u201d is weighted 90%…<\/p>\n

HYANNIS, MA \u2013 Scallopers will have to ride out one more lean year, but, by 2015, the fleet should begin reaping the benefits of recent strong recruitment, especially in the\u00a0Mid-Atlantic.<\/p>\n
