I was crouched in the stern of Peter Buxton\u2019s Susan Marie, a 37′ REPCO that he completely rebuilt a few years back.\u00a0 A former lobster boat\/gillnetter\/dragger, the Susan Marie sees much easier duty these days, as Buxton takes out small charters after hours when his Buxton Boats LLC shop is closed.<\/p>\n
At this moment, however, the Susan Marie was having some fun, plain and simple, stretching her legs as a photo boat with Buxton at the wheel and me back aft, camera in hand.\u00a0 The subject was the Seasong, a brand new wooden 38′ lobster boat that had rolled out the doors of Buxton Boats just a few days before \u2013 the second boat Buxton has built for local lobsterman Frank Gotwals.<\/p>\n
