YARMOUTH, ME \u2013 Large crowds of lobster industry people flocked to meetings in January for what the Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR) billed as \u201can open and honest discussion of issues that currently affect the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The DMR scheduled a total of 16 meetings from York to Machias. At press time in mid-January, roughly half had been held, with the remainder expected to be completed by the end of the month.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past, we\u2019ve done too little, too late,\u201d said DMR Commissioner PatKeliher. \u201cWe\u2019re here now to listen to what you have to say.\u201d<\/p>\n
