COREA, ME \u2013 You\u2019ve heard this story before: a lobsterman puts his head down and works hard for years, progressing through a series of\u00a0boats \u2013 each bigger than the last \u2013 until he reaches the day when he has a new one built.<\/p>\n
The boat of his dreams.<\/p>\n
A classic tale, right?<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the basic story behind Trevor Hooper\u2019s new Wesmac 50 25 To Life, except there\u2019s a twist:<\/p>\n
Trevor\u2019s only 25 years old.<\/p>\n
Tell you what, though: ask folks who\u2019ve watched the Corea, Maine-based fisherman grow up working on the water and they\u2019ll tell you how he\u2019s come to have a new 50-footer at his relatively young age.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrevor?\u00a0 That fella\u2019s a worker, right there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s made his own way \u2026 and he catches some lobsters.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t care how old Trevor is \u2013 he\u2019s earned his keep.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Trevor himself, it was simply a matter of outgrowing what he had \u2013 in this case, a 46\u2019 Newman that he\u2019s fished for nearly 5 years.\u00a0 (Previous to that, he owned a BHM 31 and an Osmond 38.)<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Newman was a great boat,\u201d says Trevor.\u00a0 \u201cI just needed something a little bigger \u2026 and a little faster.\u201d<\/p>\n
