The many faces of fish farming:  This issue, meet Dr. Shaun Moss

WAIMANOLO, HI – For this issue, we went west – way west – to the island of Oahu to interview Dr. Shaun Moss.

Shaun has been a part of Oceanic Institute for almost 30 years and I have been fortunate to work with him and some of his fellow employees over the years.

Shaun knew from an early age that he wanted to be a marine biologist.   As a child growing up in northern New Jersey, he loved the ocean and dreamed of exotic places where beautiful tropical fish lived.

Not only did Shaun have aquariums in his bedroom growing up, he also read books about tropical fish and exotic locations, and he watched Jacques Cousteau on television.  These experiences reinforced his interest in marine biology and began to set a career path in motion…
