Tselikis departs Maine Coast, to head-up ME Lobster Dealers Association full time

YORK, ME – Maine Coast, a live lobster wholesaler headquartered here, announced recently that Annie Tselikis – the company’s marketing manager – left at the end of January to become the full time executive director of the Maine Lobster Dealers Association (MLDA).

During her two-year tenure at Maine Coast, Tselikis was concurrently working part time as the MLDA’s executive director.   MLDA is a trade association supporting live lobster wholesalers and lobster processors, of which Maine Coast is a member.

MLDA members decided to expand the services of the organization, and felt the need for a full time commitment at the ED position, a spokesperson said.

Sheila Adams, who recently joined Maine Coast as vice president of sales and marketing will oversee ongoing marketing functions, the company said.

Tom Adams, Maine Coast founder and CEO, said he supports Tselikis’s move.

“We are sorry to see Annie leave Maine Coast.  She has been a great asset for our company, but she is uniquely suited to support all of the lobster businesses and work for the collective benefit of the entire lobster industry.”

Tom Flanigan of Seaview Lobster in Kittery and MLDA’s vice president, agreed.

“The Maine lobster industry is operating in an increasingly complex global environment and is facing issues and potential opportunities on many fronts.”

Flanigan noted that MLDA members are small businesses and are not equipped to tackle issues individually.

“Now more than ever, MLDA is vitally important and should be supported by all segments of the Maine lobster industry…
