New this time in CFN …

We just want to call your attention to two new features debuting in this issue of Commercial Fisheries News, along with the return of an old friend who has been missing from these pages for too long. Page 38 features our first CFN Truck of the Month sponsored by R.E. Thomas Marine Hardware.  It’s a good one, coming out of Brown’s Boatyard on North Haven, ME.

open-mic-SHSend us your favorite truck story (old, new, sweet ride, or beater) and if selected for publication you will win a $500 gift certificate to R.E. Thomas. Then, on page 23, please take a few minutes to read fisherman/poet/author Jon Campbell’s contribution to our brand new feature, Open Mic. Think of this as a community access channel in print – a place for fishing folks to vent their creative energies.  Tell a good story, share a song or a recipe, maybe even a few photos taken through the eyes of a fisherman. You send it, we’ll print it.  Deal. And finally, don’t miss the return of Ask the Lobster Doc.  In this very special installment, her first in several years, Diane Cowan recounts her firsthand experience being icebound this winter – just her and her lobsters – off the Maine coast.  It’s good reading.   —Editor CFN_4_15-cover
